January 2012 started up where 2011 left off: Hermosa Beach Real Estate sales are slow. Only 11 properties closed escrow. Of the homes that sold 2 were short sales and 2 were bank owned foreclosures (REOs). That means that 36% of Hermosa Beach sales were distressed properties. Wow.
The Hermosa Beach Sand Section had 4 sales, same as December 2011. Hermosa Valley had 2 sales, and East Hermosa Beach 5 sales also the same as the previous month.
Single family homes were 6 of the sales and townhouses and condos 6. The lowest price home was $622,500 for a 2 bedroom 1350 sq ft detached townhouse and the highest price was $5,850,000 for a 9 bedroom 3600 sq ft single family on The Strand.
